The Discordia 19 Podcast Episode 7

Eyes of the Dragon in Development at SyFy

King's fantasy novel The Eyes of the Dragon was written in 1987 and never previously adapted to film.

The 1987 bestseller is being developed by Syfy as a longform project, along with a scripted drama series based on the comic Grey Legion and two high-concept movie projects. The network is set to announce all the titles later today at its upfront presentation in New York City.

Michael Taylor (Battlestar Galactica) and Jeff Vintar (I, Robot) will pen the Dragon script, with Taylor and Bill Haber as executive producers.

For more info check over at EW.com.

Dragon takes place in fictional realm of Delain and follows a teenage prince who is falsely accused of murdering his father, the king. Imprisoned in a high tower, the prince must figure out a way to escape, clear his name, and confront the devious and powerful wizard who is responsible for his father’s death.

At least 3 characters in the book are later seen in the Dark Tower worlds, including Flagg.  The other 2 actually meet Roland when he was a young man and are mentioned breifly.

Saw this first at Lilja's Library.

Haven Beginning Production on it's Third Season

Beginning April 18th in Halifax, Nova Scocia, Haven will begin to shoot 13 new episodes of it's third season.

During its second season, Haven averaged 2.55 million total viewers, 995,000 Adults18-49, 1.14 million Adults 25-54 and a 1.9 HH rating, rising four percent among total viewers and five percent among Adults 18-49 compared to season one (Live +7 data).

Season three of Haven picks up immediately following the events of the gripping season two finale where Nathan (Lucas Bryant) was warned against pursuing a romantic relationship with Audrey (Emily Rose); Duke (Eric Balfour) learned his family legacy was to kill Haven citizens with troubles; Audrey went missing, and Nathan and Duke engaged in a seemingly deadly argument.

Haven is based on Stephen King's The Colorado Kid.  Loosley based.  Still a great show.  I'm looking forward to this season.
