Scribner's Cover for Wind Through the Keyhole

The cover art for Wind Through the Keyhole has been released from Scribner.  Wind is a new Dark Tower book that takes place in between Wizard and Glass and Wolves of the Calla.  Love this cover.

The Stand Audiobook

Some news from Stephenking.com.

Random House Audio will be releasing the long-awaited unedited audiobook edition of The Stand which will be read by Grover Gardner. The exact date of publication has not yet been determined, but is tentatively scheduled to be on February 14, 2012. The recording will be released for purchase digitally by Audible.com and iTunes and available in the library market on CD.

I have an old bootleg version of this, read by Gardner as well, will be pretty awesome to get the full version.

Carrie the Musical coming soon to the MCC Theater

MCC Theater is presenting the newly reworked and fully re-imagined production of Carrie, the musical.  Performances begin January 31, 2012, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. The official opening night is set for March 1, 2012.

The original Broadway production was in 1988 and ran for 16  previews and 5 performances.  It is known as one of the most expensive flops in Broadway history.  It will be interesting to see how well the new production does.  I don't have high hopes.  Ticket prices are very high for off-broadway at $90 per ticket for Mezanine and Orchestra.

I am a Stephen King Fan

I'm not obsessed.  Really, I'm not.  I do read daily articles about King and his books/movies.  I collect his books and  have a decent size collection of signed first editions and other things.  I've listened to a couple of King podcasts and found them to be ok, but nothing special.

I've decided to blog and podcast about King.  The blog part will be mostly a linked list, with brief comments, to other news sources.  The podcast, when I start it, will probably be a half hour of discussion of King news and whatever I feel like covering that week.  My friend Mondo will be my co-host, because he also is not obsessed with King.
